Description

Ever since Kotlin was announced as an officially supported language for the Android platform in 2017, Sam has been writing 100% Kotlin code. He’ll share the language features he’s fallen in love with, the developer experience, and what’s possible with Kotlin. He’ll also dive into non-Android use cases we use Kotlin, such as micro-services, processing streaming data, and more. Kotlin has been around since 2011, and has a quickly-evolving ecosystem that not only targets the Java Virtual Machine, but can also be compiled to Native or JavaScript. You’ll leave this talk knowing more about what Kotlin is, how to start using it in your project, and why you might never go back to using Java.
