Building a Weather Station with JavaScript

Wouldn’t it be cool to have a custom made weather station? Wouldn’t it even be cooler to be done in JavaScript? In this presentation Andrew Evans will be showcasing a weather station he built with JavaScript at home. The project includes use of IoT sensors for temperature and humidity, and Firebase Functions for the backed with a React Frontend. Andrew will walkthrough how the project works and a high level of the components involved.

Speaker: Andrew Evans

Andrew is a Manager at CapTech Consulting. Andrew’s worked for over 10 years as a Software Engineer on a variety of platforms and projects. Andrew has an active blog and also routinely makes contributions to a variety of publications including Angular-In-Depth and LogRocket. Andrew also teaches Computer Science part time at John Tyler Community College. Andrew holds both a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Christopher Newport University, and an MBA from William and Mary. When not working on Software, Andrew can be found with his wife and family here in Richmond, VA.
